The Center for the Improvement of Human
Functioning, 3100 N. Hillside, is a non-profit medical
health facility which explores all possible means of
preserving health and counteracting disease. The center,
located in northeast Wichita, is housed in an
architecturally progressive campus of geodesic domes and
a huge pyramid.
The center conducts research at the far thresholds
of disease management, while treating its patients in
accordance with the diverse ways in which the human body
can heal itself.
Wichita and Kansas are particularly fortunate to be
the beneficiaries of the good works of the Kansas Health
Foundation, one of the preeminent health foundations in
America. The foundation’s grant making is focused on
improving the health of all Kansans.
The foundation recognizes the irresistible force of
communities working together in pursuit of a common
goal. Its programs are locally based and built around
the individual needs and strengths of Kansas towns.
Specifically, the foundation encourages the development
of group and community actions that point out directions
for meaningful, productive change in the health care
system. The Kansas Health Foundation is located at 309
E. Douglas. |
